Yet another pair of expensive skates from Bauer which are essentially the same as the old but with hyped features and a new colour scheme. Plus they have almost zero mouldability, so if you have Bauer shaped feet, they’re great, otherwise nope. If anyone thinks these so called features are important, ask yourself why so many top level players stick with their old skates. In my opinion what matters mostbis comfort and fit. When I went from Bauer Custom to True TF9, my skating improved dramatically. I could suddenly do drills I had been practicing for years, and failed to master. Perhaps the Trues are superior. but I suspect it’s because the TF9 are much more comfortable and a much better fit. The Bauers hurt my toes as they were too narrow, and there was no support round the ankles. Choose skates that fit you, whatever the brand, ignore the hype.

I don't remember when I saw that, but it is magic. I struggled to keep my balance on my skates, but this provides extra support and all my balance issues disappeared.

I saw these the other day at Pure Hockey and they are pretty sick, would be nice if the prices stopped creeping up $150 with each new skate tho. I get it that its the top line skate.

I tried the shadows… went with Machs for half the price…. I think one thing about the reflex tongue is that if you are a tucker I don’t think it feels quite right almost too stiff cause it can’t move. Feels a lot better if you flop and the can feel that flex in the stride.

Didn't learn that AC isn't common in England until recently. As a Floridian where it regularly hits 36-38C outside and with the "feels like" temp hitting 47C, we'd be dead without AC going all day long lol.

Make sure you get your blades profiled properly and if you do that you won't notice the flatness of the holder

Graf skates g7 are without a doubt are the best skate ever made that being said still if you're a pure skater and you make full extensions out to your toe first thing I did with all of my skates was Ben the s*** out of that tendon guard once you get that loosened up by manually doing so have no issues

My last couple pairs of skates have been grass will not skate at anything else other than grass and I have skated on Bowers since Bauer 1000 CCM tacks I've stated that a lot of skates the graph is without a doubt I skate on G7 without a doubt are the best skates in my opinion for Pure skaters

I would clarify on a couple of points (as someone that has spent their hockey beer league career screening goalies): 1. Stick Position - keeping your stick on the ice is generally a bad idea unless a shot is imminent. If you do this, more often than not a defender will just pin your stick down. I prefer to keep it "loose" about waste high ... then read the type of shot that is about to come in, and adjust from there. I find this made is nearly impossible for the defender to tie up your stick either by pinning it down or by lifting it from below as you can easily move it out of their path. 2. Body Position - I see a lot of guys get too close to the goalie. As you can see at 0:30 the player is right against the goalie, and he can easily look around you and track the play. A couple of feet further out, and you are much more of a visual obstruction.

Honestly, i believe sticks should be something like $30, there’s NO reason for a literal stick to be $200. And skates should be like $200 max. I would be comfortable spending about $150 for skates and $90 for a stick, unfortunately thats extremely difficult.

The only way I'm buying $1200 dollar skates is if they actually do the skating for me.

I loved the mission Betty’s. And their other women’s skate. They are no longer made. Any chance of brining those back? It was one of the few womens specific skates. They are the only skates I ever had that just fit.

Thank you for making deeply informative videos like this, I live in the deep south of the United states (Texas), and its hard to find Hockey equipment anywhere. The world of hockey equipment is so tricky and complex that it gets confusing, but your videos are helping me figure it all out. I haven’t ever played hockey, and I’m afraid I’m to old, so I’ll watch every one of your videos to learn the ins and outs of the game, from equipment to play, so I have a shot at the game. Boot height is same, right? And also same pitch (angle), givin mainly by XS holder. Same stiffness, the boot width is given by fit system. So the real skating difference will be... more heel-lock in XF? That's not much to justify 2 different skate lines. The upgrade with toe-cup inner "bumples" removing sounds great!!! And more forefoot volume is Top!

My old Tacks (9070s) started to break down but didn't have the money to buy new so I ended up getting a second hand pair of Vapor 3X Pros. I feel like I am skating better in the 3X Pros so the questions are: As I understand the skating style is different Tacks to Vapors, where Vapors are more akin to Jetspeed. So if I go back to CCM would I be better getting Jetspeed? Do you think the difference is more related to the fact that at the time of the 3X Pros coming out they were top of the line where the 9070s were always a mid level skate? The 2nd hand skates are an interim solution until I can afford new skates, what range do you think would be better to look at as the next skate? Thanks
